Overview

Enhanced Lighting Interface for OS3.3+ is an evolution of Enhanced Lighting Interface.

With OS3.3.0, Control4 introduced native colour and temperature control for new lighting drivers. With many older drivers unable to take advantage of this new feature, Enhanced Lighting Interface provides a solution!

This driver allows control of separate single-channel dimmer drivers as if they were distinct channels of a multi-channel fixture, fully managing the relative scaling of each channel needed to show complex colours.

It can behave as an RGB, RGBW, HSV, WW or Tunable white fixture, presenting as a light proxy with all the new OS3.3.0 lighting features enabled!

If your system cannot be upgraded to OS3.3.0, you can instead use the classic Enhanced Lighting Interface driver. This classic driver will not be visible under the Lights menu in Navigator, but still has full compatibility with Color Wheel, Circadian Lighting and Visual Navigator.

FAQ

What do I need to install?

You should add 1 instance of the Lighting Interface for each light fixture you have.
From there, you need to set the Colour Mode property to describe the type of this fixture (RGB/RGBW/HSV/WW), and use the device selectors to link the correct channels to the existing dimmer drivers.

How do I use this driver with Color Wheel?

After configuring the properties of the Enhanced Lighting Interface driver, your Color Wheel driver will automatically discover it, and show the lighting interface on the webview alongside any other Color Wheel-compatible lights in your project.

How do I use this driver with Circadian Lighting?

After configuring the properties of the Enhanced Lighting Interface driver, select your Circadian Lighting driver in the system design view, and choose ‘Enhanced Lighting Interface’ using the device selector property.

What is the purpose of the Channel Limits properties?

Some dimmers have associated data types that limit the available range of control from the Control4 sliders.

A single-channel RGB datatype you might expect that the range 0-100 covers the entire colour wheel (0=red, 33=green, 66=blue, 100=red), but some datatypes might have a different range (the Lutron Single-Channel RGB data type has an effective range of 15-98).

With the Channel Limits properties, you can now choose from some pre-configured ranges of popular datatypes, or even choose Custom to add your own!

To leave the dimmers in their default range (0-100), ensure that you have Standard selected.

Will you be supporting more lights in the future?

We support all light and light v2 driver types in this solution! If you are having trouble with connecting Enhanced Lighting Interface to a specific lighting driver, please contact us quoting the driver name and download link and we will be happy to to assist.
