This driver allows for control of various Future Automation Mechanisms with Articulation via Relay, RS232 and IR.
Please note that this driver does not provide a Navigator Icon like the standard Future Automation Mechanism Driver due to the complication and wide compatibility this driver provides.
Features
- Link to the Projector, TV, Plasma or Receiver to open or close on their power commands (NO PROGRAMMING NEEDED)
- Momentary Relay Connections, RS232 or IR Control
- Mechanism Status
- Mechanism Status: This indicates the last command sent to the Mechanism
- Mechanism Movement Settings
- Trigger Device: You can link this to a Plasma, Television or Projector. When the trigger device receives its power on command the Mechanism should open and when the trigger device receives a power off command it should close the Mechanism. No need to do any programming
- Pre-set to Move to on Trigger From Device: Which pre-set should the Mechanism move to when the Trigger device is powered on
- Cool Down Time [M]: Devices like projectors require a cooldown period before retracting into an enclosed space. This automatically starts a timer (in minutes) when the Trigger Device is sent the Off command. When this timer expires the mechanism will only then close. If this property is set to 0 then it will close immediately after the off command.
Control Options
- Momentary Relay: Depending on the Mechanism you are controlling you will bind the appropriate relay connection. These connections can be found in the Future Automation Instructions for your Mechanism.
Below is a table of a few compatible Mechanisms. With the below a momentary short to ground (Pin 3) should cause the mechanism to move to the desired position. The instructions shipped with the Mechanism supercedes the below:

Infrared: With the IR pickup connected to the Future Automation Control Box you can control the mechanism with the same compatibility as the RS232.
FAQ
Why use this driver?
- Integrate with the wide range of Lift and Movement Mechanism’s available from Future Automation via Relay, RS232 or Infrared
What’s the difference between this driver and the other Future Automation driver you offer?
- This driver caters for the pre-sets that can be set on mechanism’s that have more positions than simply in and out. This driver also does NOT have the simple animation that the other driver has due to the complexity of the and wide range of supported mechanisms.
- Yes and no. The RS232 and Infrared commands are specific however the relay connections are not. If you have another brand of Mechanism that uses momentary relays as a way of control, then this driver should work for those as well. If you’re not sure, contact us and we will check for you.
- Sure, all our drivers come with a trail of 15 days and Showroom projects in your DriverCentral portal activate automatically for free.
