Matter

Overview

Matter is an open smart home standard that lets devices from different brands work together on your local network. This driver is a native Matter controller for Control4: commission and control compatible devices without a third-party hub.

Features

• Local Control - Direct control on the local network
• Commissioning UI - Add devices with a setup code or QR scan from a UI in the Control4 app, available to homeowners and dealers
• Auto Setup - One-click action adds and binds the correct subdriver for commissioned devices
• Multi-Admin - Join devices that are already set up in another Matter ecosystem (Apple, Google, and more)

Device Compatibility

The following reflects current device support. Additional device types will be added in future updates.

Limitations

• No BLE commissioning - This driver does not commission over BLE. Devices set up in a vendor app (including over BLE) can still be joined via multi-admin once they are reachable on the LAN over Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
• No Thread - Thread devices are not supported. Only Wi-Fi and Ethernet Matter devices can be commissioned or controlled.

Requirements

• Control4 OS 4.0.0 or higher
• IPv6 enabled on the local network
• Matter devices reachable over IP on the LAN (Wi-Fi or Ethernet)
