HVAC Energy Tracker turns your existing heating and cooling equipment into a live energy and cost report inside Control4.
Heating: connect a thermostat (heat state) or a dry-contact sensor on the burner. The driver measures burner run time and converts it to fuel used with the burner input rating you enter. Works with fuel oil, propane and natural gas.
Cooling: when a thermostat is selected, Cool run time is tracked and converted to kWh and cost using your compressor wattage and electric price.
Features
- Oil/propane tank level estimate with low-level event and fill-up recording (date, gallons, price per gallon)
- Natural gas: enter your bills (supply + delivery, therms) and the driver calculates your real price per therm
- Electric bills for accurate cooling cost per kWh
- Usage and cost for today, this week, this month, with daily and monthly history charts (red = heating, blue = cooling)
- Built-in WebView UI for Navigator, plus programmable variables, events and commands
- Import Data action: load past gas/electric bills, usage history, cooling history and fuel deliveries (e.g. from a thermostat export)
- History survives driver updates and controller reboots
- Google Nest thermostat owners: request your data at takeout.google.com (Nest export), then use Import Data to load past heating and cooling run time and see your history right away
Requirements: Control4 OS 3.x or later; a thermostat driver exposing HVAC state, or a contact sensor (e.g. Z2IO) on the burner.
Estimates are based on run time and the ratings you enter; they are not metered values.
