This driver is a simple convertor that allows you to use a Dimmer Proxy (Dimmer Driver) within Composer and get 10 Relay Connections out.

Features

  • Quickly select the lighting driver from System Design
  • Quickly bind the Relay outputs to the Relay Driver you need to control
  • If the light is dimmed on via the light icon on a navigator this will reflect on the relay driver
  • If the relay device is triggered the commands are routed to the lighting device

Properties

  • Device Settings
    • Light: This is where you select the light you would like to bind to
    • Relay X Threshold: What % should the dimmer be at to trigger the virtual relay

Connections

  • 10 Relay (Output): This is where you will bind the relay connections to the relay driver you want to control. If you are just using a few relays only connect the relays you need.

Gotchas (but shouldn't be a big deal)

  • This driver was intended to be used with and was tested with relay drivers set to latching or interlocking drivers and not pulse type.

FAQ

  • Can you give us some examples of how we could use this driver?
    • Fan or heater control with a 0-10v dimmer. When a relay driver like the Fan Speed driver we sell is set to a speed, this driver translates the relay connection to a % that the 0-10v dimmer sets to.
    • I’m sure this will just about only be used with the 0-10v dimmer but will work with any dimmer driver that sets level. This will not work for a switch. We make a different driver for that.
  • Why did you make the driver?
    • Someone on the Control4 Forums was asking to a proxy conversion so that they could use a 0-10v dimmer control a fan but get have the correct driver reflect on the Navigator.
  • Can you have more than one Driver per project?
    • Sure can.
  • Can you select multiple lights to control one relay driver?
    • Nope. While possible to do I am not sure why you would. This is designed to be a one light driver to one relay driver.
