This driver connects a Rheem EcoNet Gen‑5 heat pump water heater directly into Control4, presenting it as a standard thermostat tile so homeowners and dealers get native climate-style control — no separate app, no manual scheduling workarounds.
Realtime, not just polling. The driver pairs Rheem's cloud REST API with a persistent MQTT connection, so state changes show up in Control4 instantly — whether triggered from the Control4 interface, the EcoNet app, or the water heater itself.
Full mode control. Switch between Energy Saver, Heat Pump, High Demand, Electric, and Vacation modes directly from the tile's Extras menu, plus standard on/off from the main dial.
Away/Vacation done right. Away and Vacation state is handled at the account/location level — matching exactly how the official EcoNet app and geofencing behave — so Control4 and the homeowner's phone stay in sync instead of fighting each other.
Built for multi-unit installs. An Add All Water Heaters action discovers and adds every unit on an account/location in a single step — ideal for larger properties or multiple water heaters on one EcoNet account.
Programmable status. Hot water availability, running/heating state, connection status, and equipment alerts are all exposed as Control4 variables, so custom programming and notifications can react to real water heater conditions.
